Almost through exam week…no reported causalties…yet

Wow. It’s been quite a while since our last update. I apologize for not writing in the last couple weeks, but we’ve all been up to our necks in cramming for exams, writing final papers and procrastinating. I emerged from the Undergraduate Library today for the first time since early December, I believe, and had quite some trouble adjusting to the natural sunlight. I found it rather difficult to walk at first, like trying to move with banana peels stuck to the soles of my shoes– my knees and ankles buckled from weeks of neglect. I also went and had my first real meal this afternoon– thankful to consume something other than Easy Mac, bagels, and breakfast bars. Anyway, I think I can confidently speak for the entire team when I say the last few weeks have been more than hectic. I just want to emphasize how dedicated our team has been lately and how impressed I’ve been with the caliber of determination they’ve shown. With scarcely any time for moments of relaxation, the Thailand team continued to fund raise and work on the weekends. Awesome job, guys! Eight members of the team worked an eight-hour casino night in Oxford, NC last Friday and made about $500. The following Sunday, three team members also worked another casino event in Durham. Donations have continued coming in as well and we are very thankful for the support we’ve been given! Our current funds sit at $9,643.34! With exams almost done and Winter Break around the corner, we’ll all be going home for three weeks. Continue to check back! I’ll try to be a little more punctual with the posts!
